Dr. Bhuvaneshkumar Shanmugam

Dr. Bhuvaneshkumar Shanmugam is the Laboratory Manager, Microbiology, at RASID Laboratory and Environmental Sciences (EVS) at M42, with more than 16 years of experience across microbiology, molecular diagnostics, environmental science, and public health surveillance. His work focuses on advancing laboratory capabilities for emerging pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and wastewater-based surveillance, combining molecular technologies with robust scientific and quality systems.

At RASID, Dr. Bhuvanesh oversees microbiology and molecular biology operations while driving the development of advanced surveillance capabilities for emerging and high-consequence pathogens. He actively contributes to regional and international scientific collaborations and holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Anna University. His published research spans wastewater surveillance, infectious diseases, and microbial biotechnology.
