Masamitsu Harata is the founder, chairman, president, and CEO of Human Life CORD Japan Inc., a pioneering biotechnology company established in 2017. He is dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine by developing cellular products derived from umbilical cord tissue, a previously discarded resource.

He holds master's degrees in both agriculture and business administration, specializing in genetic engineering and biotechnology. His career spans extensive leadership roles in clinical development and pharmaceutical sales, notably at SymBio Pharmaceuticals. Beyond his corporate leadership, Harata serves as a guest professor at the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, bridging academic research and commercial application.

Under his leadership, Human Life CORD has expanded its global footprint, recently securing a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Biobank to establish localized manufacturing for umbilical cord-derived therapies in the UAE. His vision focuses on creating accessible, mass-produced cell therapies to treat unmet medical needs worldwide.
